Patients on regular medication can arrange to order repeat prescriptions, usually on a monthly basis, from the dispensary.
Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed.
You can order your repeat prescription in a number of ways:
Regretfully we cannot take orders for repeat prescriptions over the telephone or by email.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
We are able to dispense medications to all our patients who live more than ONE mile from a chemist. We are not able to dispense to the local community but we can arrange for your prescription to be delivered to the local chemist.
We provide a medication delivery service for patients aged 65 and over and for the elderly or infirm in the following villages. When you order your repeat prescription, please let the dispenser know if you would like to use the free delivery service.
The dispensary is open:
09:00 - 13:00 Monday to Friday
15:00 - 18:00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday
The dispensary is closed between 13:00 and 15:00 with the exception of Wednesday when it closes at13:00 for the rest of the day.
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 15 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website
